This has been floating around the blogs for a bit now, and normally if I see it EVERYWHERE, I think,"Why bother?" I try to avoid it if it wasn't kicked my way in the first place by the source.

HOWEVER

The LehtMoJoe remix of Major Lazer's "Hold The Line" is a deft little mashup with contextual awareness that possesses that rare link of relevance.

I sound like an infomercial, but ever since the soundtrack to Judgement Night dropped during my high school days, I've always been fascinated with the "unexpected team-up" projects.

I was perusing the daily fare at RCRDLBL, and came across this Gui Boratto track. I can't ever say that I had a period when this sort of dance music was my steez. However, tracks of all shapes and sizes can rise above their own niche and grab at something within at such a basic level that you simply can't help but be totally enthralled. The Treasure Fingers remix will keep you swimming in leg warmers and roller-skates, while the Crookers remix will... well, let's just say that you have to hear it to understand why it defies easy explanation.
