Relation - Your Tiny Mind (Lifelike Radio Edit)

Fear of Night, the debut album from Relation (on Urban Torque), is a pulsating, glistening workout of 80s synthpop sensibility married to modern production polish. Obviously, this niche of contemporary music has been revisited and recontextualized for modern consumption ad nauseaum. However, Relation are deftly sidestepping through the crowd, without stepping on too many toes of other notable artists' high quality output (such as Chromeo or even DMX Krew) which is not small feat given the hyper-specific nature of this sort of sound. Echoes of bands past (and some not-so-past) are definitely present, all with the same futurist melancholy that this strain of synthpop tends to evoke.
