Schlachthofbronx - Ayoba (Top Billin Remix) + Remix EP release!

Schlachthofbronx "Ayoba" Featuring Spoek & Gnucci Banana (Top Billin Remix) by MANRECORDINGS

In case there was any doubt, I'm a huge fan of Schlachthofbronx, and during a bit of blog neglect on my part (for everyone), they've been makin' moves that are no small feats. Happily though, as I'm getting back into the swing o' tings, it just so happens that their Ayoba Remix EP is dropping. To makes things better, Top Billin has released their remix for free (via Soundcloud, download link in on the player above) Of course, if you haven't peeped the orrrrrriginal, check that out below.

Major Lazer ft Nina Sky "Keep It Goin' Louder" (Larry Tee, Alexander Technique & Kassiano Remix)

Larry Tee was awesome enough to send over their remix of Major Lazer's "Keep It Goin' Louder" (remixed by the triple talents of Larry Tee, Alexander Technique and the Brazillian wonder (who Lil' Jon snagged for his new album) Kassiano!) According to Larry, it's Diplo's favorite remix in his sets!

Come cop it here!

Mom & Dad >> The Whole Sh-Bang >> Harvard Bass Remix

photo: Ellei J @ Shadowscene

The fine folks @ DJs Are Not Rockstars Records were nice enough to share the Harvard Bass remix of DANR artist MOM & DAD's (aka Jimmy Del Barco) "The Whole Sh-Bang" with me (which was just dropped into the latest Crookers blog mix) . A tribal 808-laden workout of dancefloor thunder, I'll definitely be playing this track out.

Peaches - I Feel Cream (Larry Tee & Alexander Technique Blogula Rmx)

Larry Tee & Alexander Technique form the two-headed club monster known as BLOGULA (in the Djs Are Not Rockstars camp), and they've dropped a driving remix of "I Feel Cream" by none other than Peaches... And in Larry's own words: "It's been killing em!!" They've been kind enough to provide a 320kbps of this OFFICIAL release.

Dirty Disco Youth >> Stupid Sound

Dirty Disco Youth's STUPID SOUND EP will be infecting your earholes on June 24 on Kinetika Records, and mang is it a banger. The original mix of this is a sweaty overdriven rave-til-dead gauntlet, where the Sick Boy remix takes things a little more organic and worldly with the percussion sounds and rhythms, but retains that intense roller-coaster synth on a bed of throb'n'rumble bass to vibrate your sensitive areas. Grab the EP for the other tracks, including a DRLKT FREDDIE remix.

Major Lazer - Hold The Line (Remixes)

This has been floating around the blogs for a bit now, and normally if I see it EVERYWHERE, I think,"Why bother?" I try to avoid it if it wasn't kicked my way in the first place by the source.

HOWEVER

The LehtMoJoe remix of Major Lazer's "Hold The Line" is a deft little mashup with contextual awareness that possesses that rare link of relevance.

And luckily, RCRDLBL has put it up for your consumption.

plus, if you didn't grab it before, what's wrong with you, mang?

The Presets >> Kicking and Screaming (Drlkt Freddie Werewolves in the Woods Remix)

Blue Moon

Drlkt Freddie have worked up a superb and spooky remix of "Kicking and Screaming" with a chopped up bassline, stuttered vocals, and well done busy-but-not-noisy drums (the wood blocks are doing it for me) and rave-til-dawn buildups (hah).

Brittany Street >> Hello Hollywood (Blac Waldo Cut & Paste Mix)

My man Blac Waldo has turned in a monster of a remix for ATL's Brittany Street. The funkiest user of Renoise I've known, but then again, I don't know many other Renoise users. (There are probably more of them than Jeskola BUZZ users, like I used to be... le sigh) Seriously, don't sleep on the Blac Walli if he's playing in your town.

John & Jehn >> Looking For You (Dill Dancehall rmx)

A completely mesmerizing dancehall treatment of London's John & Jehn... I LOVE the original version of this track, and this remix is my fave of the bunch. I would totally use this as the soundtrack for riding a scooter lazily through cramped alleyways at midnight while treating cough syrup as a beverage.

Avenue >> Can You Feel It (Soda Boys Remix)

While the original (by Avenue) isn't exactly my preferred flavor of pop, all the more reason to appreciate the rework done here by Soda Boys. I can imagine this unleashed on more than a few unsuspecting parties, and just feel the temperature rise as the song chugs along, fueled by vocoded dancefloor fury.

Lily Allen >> The Fear (AP vs DJ Cat NYC Remix)

Definitely one of the more schizophrenic remixes I've heard in a bit... This Automatic Panic vs DJ Cat NYC remix of Lily Allen is all over the place, from I'm-feelin-those-Mitsubishis-NOW rave madness, to acid soaked disco hi-hats, to a brief love affair with breakbeat, and progressivey pads to wash it all down.

N.A.S.A. >> Whachadoin? ft. M.I.A. & Spank Rock (Villains remix)

N.A.S.A. (aka Squeak E. Clean (aka Sam Spiegel, Spike Jonze’s brother) and partner-in-crime DJ Zegon) are the Handsome Boy Modeling School of party records, as in getting the supremely talented together into a room to play amongst the top-notch beats and sterling production. I sound like an infomercial, but ever since the soundtrack to Judgement Night dropped during my high school days, I've always been fascinated with the "unexpected team-up" projects.

RCRDLBL just posted the Villains' raved-out remix of Whachadoin?, focusing mainly on M.I.A. and Spank Rock's contributions to the track.

Architecture in Helsinki >> That Beep (Radioclit's Swedish Mix)

You might have caught Radioclit's (French Remix) of Architecture in Helsinki's single "That Beep." Where that remix retained a lot of the original's pop charm and organic instrumentation, this new (Swedish Remix) is a definitely a more straight drum-laden affair, stripping the track down into a bubblegum dancefloor workout.

Grab the track by heading on over to RCRDLBL

MIIKE SNOW - ANIMAL REMIXES

A few remixes of Miike Snow's "Animal" have bubbled to the surface, by two of the heaviest hitters on the market, even! The Treasure Fingers remix will keep you swimming in leg warmers and roller-skates, while the Crookers remix will... well, let's just say that you have to hear it to understand why it defies easy explanation. It suffices to say that the Crookers threw a wonderful curveball, both recognizeable and unexpected at once. Is this the preface to a new direction for Crookers?

Grab both over at RCRDLBL:

The Hours – See The Light (Calvin Harris Vocal Remix)

The Calvin Harris remix of The Hours’ “See The Light” is a perfect party track to dance with your old lady to in dark rooms glittered with strings of X-Mas lights. It’s a marked difference from the expansive pop of the original, which you can grab on iTunes.
